TIA'S TIE BLANKIES
My goal was to organize the construction of  100 tie blankets
for surgery patients (children under 21) at Shriner's Hospital
for Children in Portland.  This is one of my Yamhill County
4-H projects, and also will be my senior project for Newberg
High School.  It appears we will be delivering closer to 150 tie
blankets to Shriners.  The Oregon 4-H Foundation awarded me
a grant for $1440, which is amazing!

Tying Party is scheduled for
February 25th at the 4-H extension
office in McMinnville  10-12 and 12-2

FUND RAISERS:
I have also organized a tree fundraiser, wreath fundraiser,
and two feather fundraisers......the support has been amazing!
In August, 2011, I was a spine surgery patient at Shriners
Hospital in Portland, and my sister Ariana made me a
surprise tie blanket with dog footprints on it.  It made me
feel special, and helped with my ride home and hours spent
on the couch recovering.  I would like to make other kids feel
special after their surgery and during their recovery!!!!!!
